I agree, it's not too dogone bad :yeahthat:
Sorta, not so smooth, almost like a scotch, but that's a good thing! Good for sipping around a campfire

I have both on hand at the moment, and like the Wild Turkey a little better. Maker's Mark is good, too!

Shoot, they all almost make me forget about Beam, just doesn't compare for me anymore...

Wild Turkey 101 RULES:bow: I can still remember when the label said 8 years old on the bottle!!!!

Makers Mark, Bookers etc. are all good too. I can even drink JD or JB if that's what's on the table. As long as it's Bourbon, I'll take a shot or two or three...

Sounds like I'll have to check out this Buffalo Trace if it's in the WT class...Al

Wild Turkey 101 and Maker's Mark are my usual drinks. No more Jack Daniel's for me since they watered it down. :dont:

If you get a chance, try Old Potrero 18th Century Style Whiskey. It'll put a hem in your dress! :OMGWTF:

Bottle of Knob Creek on my shelf, not too bad when the scotch runs dry.

When I drink whiskey, I almost always drink it straight. Its all good, but Rebel Yell is the easiest bourbon to drink that I've ever had. It also makes a great mint julip. Good stuff!

Rebel Yell is a classic Kentucky Bourbon. Actually, originally it was not intended to be sold north of the Mason-Dixon line. Thankfully, now us Yankees can get it. :biggthum:

:yeahthat: To all of the above. Whiskey in all it's forms is good for me. I'm a Knob Creek guy myself, just because it's the best, readily available to me. I have yet to see Buffalo Trace even in the specialty liquor stores in my area, but I have read about it. I've sampled all the rest listed above, except Rebel Yell and Old Potero, but they are now on the list.

Always something to learn here.:gogdog:

I started drinkin' whiskey a couple of years ago,so I'm no expert on the subject, but I allready found out that the "normal" (red label) J. Walker is not my drink of choice (too sharp)!
Famous grouse is very nice and not so expensive.
I like Dimple a lot (very smooth).......,Jack Daniëls is nice too!!!
I prefer it "straight up" without any liquid or frozen additions!!!:boozer: (sometimes a good "stogey" is nice though,to have with it!!!:bennyda: )

Knob Creek, Basil Hayden, Woodford Reserve and Crown Royal are kind of regular for my Bourbon drinking, also have a bottle of The Speyside in the cabinet.

I'm drinkin' Imperial whiskey at the moment. It's smooth, cheap (6.99)and very good. I don't know about anyone else but, I like to taste my booze and without the nasty bite.
Used to drink Crown, Jameson. Crown has more taste than Jameson. Jameson is like drinkin' warm water, almost too smooth. Hardly a whiskey taste at all.

What I'll drink now is
#1- Imperial
#2- Black Velvet
#3- Jim beam reg. or black
#4- Wild turkey or Old Grand Dad, 86 proof only.

What I'll never drink 1- Jack Daniels, the worst shit in the world.
I would rather drink skunk juice if I had a choice.
2- 101 Turkey & 100 Grand Dad. Bites too much,
close to JD
3- Scotch, any and all. Aquire a taste?
Thats what they say. Aquire a taste for ass &
balls while your at it.

Anyone who enjoys a good sipping bourbon owes it to themselves to pick up a bottle of Blanton's. It is one of the best and really is to good to even pore over ice, a glass is all you need.
Best regards,
Rob

Do you have a stake in the company? I agree, it is delicious!

Ladies, Fish, and Gentlemen,

Aside from my daily workout routine of Coors 12oz armcurls, I tend to savour the flavour of a bucket of Crown Royal on the rocks to cool off a rather hard workout. Plus, those purple bags are fun to collect.

Best regards,

Bonz

It is hard to get Bourbon here. Sure they have Four Roses, Jim Beam, but that is about it. This weekend I was in Spain and found a couple of bottles of Marshall's. Never had heard of it, and can't find anything on the Web about it. It was about the same price as Four Roses so I bought a some. What a great surprise! It said "Mild and Mellow" on the bottle and they were right. "Hand made sour mash" and "aged in burnt kegs"! Really nice sipping juice. Anyone else know anything about it? It might be some off brand, but I really like it! :tubtar:

I got four bottles of Booker's bourbon last year and finally got around to drinking one. They are all 124 plus proof and are wicked good. I don't usually drink bourbon but this has given me the taste for it again. Got some Buffalo Trace for Christmas last year and its pretty good as well but at 124 proof I've never had anything else close to it short of moonshine.

Buffalo Trace Bourbon. Just tried it this weekend. It's GOOOOOD! :biggthum:

Three summer's ago we drove from WA to OH, with stops in Cedar Rapids and Chicago. In OH I picked up a bottle of Buffalo Trace and have never opened it. I have like six bottles of whiskey and whisky under the bar and never drink it. Should you visit, I have your six.

I keep a bottle VO for cooking.

Until 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with diabetes my favorite bouborn was Jack, straight or in coke, but only if I was out Scotch. Now I can only look at the stuff in my liquor cabinet or offer it to guests. Although, every once in a while I'll have a shot. Phuck, who wants to live forever!

When not in the mood for a good single malt, I like Corner Creek Reserve (http://www.cornercreekbourbon.com/)

I'll drink any whiskey except Irish and Canadian, nothing personal guys, but that is just my taste. I like Jack, but I prefer Bourbons. Scotch is OK, but Bourbon rules....

The old man turned me on to George Dickle Bourbon. I split the last bottle with him in 1990 at his funeral.

I got so sick on Dickle that I still taste it when I drink a Coke and that was 20 plus years ago.

As I have mentioned before, the only American whiskeys that are really easy to find here are Four Roses, JD and JB. I have been drinking a cheap Bourbon this last week. With the strange name of, for a Boubon, Michigan. It isn't bad. Probably some relabeled swill!

Now that my fav single malt scotch has topped $100 a bottle in BC. I am moving on to other territory.

Alas 14 year Old Oban is to die for, I won't buy it anymore.

Please educate me on the nce American Whiskeys!

I enjoy a good single malt Irish Whiskey too.

Oban is good stuff. Over $100 a bottle is getting pretty pricey.

IMO you will find that all bourbon is sweeter than most any single malt scotch. From what I can remember off the top of my head, I would recommend the following.

Basil Hayden
Bakers
Kentuckey Spirit
Woodford Reserve
Knob Creek
Blantons single barrel

I can't belive in 3 pages nobody has mentioned Pendleton. It is better than crown( to me) and is every bit as smooth as makers mark.

Gentleman's Jack is good for sippin'

Also, some of those single barrel aged Jack's are very good.

We also get some fine homemade stuff down here.

Is Buffalo Trace as good as it used to be? I'm assuming they upped production since you used to not be able to get it on the West Coast, but I saw several bottles at my local BevMo. Gonna have to grab 'em unless I hear different from youse guise.
