here's a side by side with my Ultratech. This is a large knife. I can't imagine actually carrying this thing other than in its sheath. As to the build of the knife, it's very nice. Very even grinds and very little blade play. Fires like stink. Great fit and finish. Love it. One thing I will say is that D/A OTFs are a lot funner to play with than S/A. :pissedevil: Oh well.

About the size of the CFO2.
What does the "sheath" look like?

It's a basic nylon job with no markings. I was kinda bummed that it didn't come with Kydex or one of the cool Maxpedition sleeves the prototypes had.

Just as long as there's no grommet at the bottom for the "drain hole". Damn things scratch the shit out of the anodizing and Ti charging handle.

Kydex will also scuff it BTW...

There is a metal grommet. Oh well. It's not like I'm going to be carrying this thing.

Not to worry. A standard pouch for pistol magazines will securely fit the MT Halo, which has a 5.5" handle.
Bagmaster makes a good one, in ballistic nylon (in black and other colors), with top flap, velcro tabs, and belt loops -- and they don't have that bloody drain hole grommet. Pricing is on Bagmaster pouches is very cost effective - they offer high quality at a very low price.
If you're interested, I recommend buying them from here:

The proprietor, Dave Edwards, is a really stand-up guy. He'll work with you on fit issues. If you ask, he'll even cut a piece of wood to the dimensions that you give to him to see how it fits in the pouch.
Using a pistol mag pouch, I recommend blade-down positioning of the knife. Which is better anyhow for when you draw it from the pouch.

You could probably contact Microtech and get a replacement sheath. They have stepped up their customer service as of late.......

You could do what I did on my HALO sheaths. Just stick a small folded up piece of paper towel down there to cover the metal grommit. Abracadabra! Fixed.
The HALO V is fucking ginormous by the way.

Agree on the size of both the Halo V and CFO...they are just too big to carry. For fun and to add to the collection...ok. Much rather score a CFO though as their out of production and I just like the overall look of it better. Just my .02:devil1:
