Great video, I wish more people in this country opened their eyes to what that man said.

is that how they make Swiss cheese? :cheesydevil:
That video was awesome. You can hear it in his voice how he feels about being able to protect himself.
I wish shooting events were more of a family activity here. I used to shoot trap and skeet with my sister and the whole fam cam out when we shot tournaments. It was really the only time I felt like we were a family really.
When I would explain it to people, they looked at me weird for having a family who saw Skeet shooting as a spectator sport :cheesydevil:

That dudes my new hero! That's almost exactly what I've said to my gun hating wife.
A few years back on another forum I was engaged in a Political discussion and said that the US would benefit greatly from being a little more like Switzerland!
They take great social care of their citizens and their citizens can take great care defending their country.
Every young man gets military training, doesn't have to remain in the military if they do not want to but are rquired to keep their rifle a friggin Sig!!!
You get great weapons with no threat of the Gov removing your freedoms and you take extreme pride in those rights.
That and they are economically stable.
Needless to say I got shouted at even by pro gun folks...
Ehhhh

How nice it must be to live in a country that trusts its citizens.
Hate to put a downer on this, but a few things to keep in mind:
You may get a 'free' Sig from the government, but you're a forced conscript. Slavery isn't cool.
All those Sigs and subsidised ammunition get paid for through taxes. As much as I like shooting, I don't want other people being forced to pay to feed my habit.
During your time in the military you do have to keep your service rifle locked up. Not ideal for home defence.
Essentially no defensive carry in public. Like a lot of countries you can theoretically get a carry license, but this is reserved for a handful of individuals with special circumstances e.g. jewelry store owner. I say defensive carry because you can transport your guns openly and it's not unusual to see people cycling to the range or waiting at train stations with rifles slung over their backs, but they must be unloaded and you can't just take your gun shopping or to the movies with you.
No transfer of full-auto weapons. Some pre-ban MGs are still owned privately but can't be transferred to anyone else. Not sure what happens when the owner dies...
Switzerland is very European when it comes to civil rights. Trial by judge rather than jury is common, police can stop/search/arrest you with relative impunity etc.
European style welfare state.
To buy most types of guns from a dealer you need a license, and all sales (private and otherwise) must be recorded. Police can view these records at any time.
There is a large and growing anti-gun lobby in Switzerland and it looks quite likely that home-storage of service weapons will disappear in the near future. Everything else spirals after that.
As gun laws go around the world, Switzerland IS very free, but it's not like the US.

You've never been to California, have you? :ssmile:
CA, NY, NJ, MD, MA, DC, and more and more to be added unfortnately. Pretty soon we might really envy the Swiss...
I tell ya, I'm really happy I moved to PA. Thought abot moving to AZ, that'd been great too...
Hopefully the morons won't get their hands on our gun politics here in PA or anywhere else for that matter...
