I bought my Sig 556 Classic in January or February of this year. I was releived that it came with a factory optic as I am getting burnt out on spending money on guns only to have to save up nearly as much money as the gun cost on an optic.
So here she came, to me door with a Sig red dot. I was happy with how it looked and how it appeared it would function

One trip to the range and I realized I hated it. It had a parallax (sp?) problem. Everywhere you moved your head, moved the dot, moving your point of impact. I just flat out didn't like it. So the Sig has sat in my gunroom with its crude factory iron sights for the last 10 months or so until this week. I finally picked up an optic for it. I went with a Trijicon TR24G.
I wanted to try out a variable powered scope. One that had a x1 setting so I can use that for CQC with both eyes open and then zoom out to x4 like my ACOG. I went with green b/c all my other Trijicons have red chevrons so I wanted something different and I went with the post and triangle instead of the crosshairs with dot b/c the illuminated part of the sight is larger on the post than the small dot and that would help for target acquisition speed.
Since the Sig has a built in rear back up iron sight and I was leaving the front sight post in tact, I just needed way to get the scope off fast if needed. It holding zero wouldn't hurt either, so I went with a Larue Tactical mount and rings combo unit. I decided on the LT-139 as its the extended eye relief mount and it would work better for me since I shoot with my nose pressed up against the gun up close.
I haven't gotten to the range yet, I will this upcoming weekend and I look forward to getting this one sighted in. So far I am in love with the sight, so clear and crisp. The green triangle glowes pretty damned bright in complete darkness, brighter than my other red tritium sights. I have tritium handgun sights in all colors *yellow, orange, green, red* and I have alway found green to be the brightest. So I guess it stands to reason that the green would glow brighter in my rifle optics as well.
Here she is ready to go. Notice I also changed out the flash hider for a FSC556. I love that thing!! Range report to come
