I went today and checked out the AR's at the local shop. Many fun toys to choose from.

Finally decided on my first AR. Going to go with a Bushmaster A4 flat-top with removable carry handle.

Still saving for the rifle. Should have in my possession in about 2 weeks. Will post Pict's when I have her.

I have been buying 200rd of ammo every week for the last 6 in anticipation of purchasing it.

Recently went to local Wally-World and they had Remington (20rd box) for $3.00 bought everything they had.

I have that one. Earlier model with the fixed stock. Need to swith that out soon. It is a blast to shoot. I don't use Wolf ammo. Lake city works well for me. Buy it at the local gun show. Let us have a report after you get to shoot that bad boy.

I now have enough cashola for the AR. Woo Hoo. It is amazing how easy it is to come up with the cash for stuff you really want if you even half ass try to.

I am gonna shop a bit on line, and then check the local place. See if I can save a bit.

I can't get the rifle for a just over a week. They sold the one I want, and ordered in another for me, so..... I ordered up some accessories.

From all the reading I have done, while the AR15 is a highly effective weapon, not really for long range shooting, so I decided to keep this one as more of a mid-range 25-150 meter kinda weapon. More of a SHTF option.

Picked up an EOTech 552 site, GG&G ACCUCAM Quick release lever for the 552, and a GG&G Quick Action Batter Latch for the 552.

GG&G is having a great sale.

Pics when stuff starts showing up.

Well, after much wanting and too much waiting, tonight I bring her home.

Went yesterday to the FFL and got to fondle her a bit. VERY nice rifle and my first AR.

IL has a 24 hour wait period for long guns. Got an e-mail from my FFL stating that all is a go with the paperwork, and as of 7 PM this evening, she will be mine.

I managed to get in on the group buy at AR15.com and got one hell of a deal on this one.

14.5 barrel w/flash suppressor bringing total barrel length to 16 inches
Chromed barrel
1 in 7 barrel twist rate (for the heavy ammo)
Flat-top upper (no removable hand-hold)
Collapsible butt stock.

Sadly I won't get to the range tonight to break her in, but will try to get pictures posted for the gun porn lover in us all.

Thanks all for contributing to my financial delinquency.

Here you go. Added the accessories that I have. Still waiting on the LaRue FreeFloat Front Rail and Low Profile Gas Block. Then the A-Site will go and the Troy front fold down site can go on.

Enjoy. Didn't get to shoot her today. Damnit.

Good pics! Nice rifle.

What do you think of that sling? I've recently switched from a three-point to a one-point. I have been loving it.

Thanks. My camera doesn't have a macro setting so the last one didn't come out very well. Can't do close-ups.

Honestly, I can't give a very good report. I wore it around for an hour or so today. Pretty comfortable. Easy to go from dropped down to ready position. The rifle lays naturally at my right side, and easily slides over to right in front of my body.

I can't wait to shoot her. Got caught up at home and then called the range and they were closed today for 3 hours while a contractor came in to clean the range and empty the buckets, etc.

I have been picking up ammo for the last 2 months, and yesterday I bought 1000 rounds at the local Gander Mountain.

Thanks.

My buddy and I bought some of the same hardware. I picked up Coyote and he bought OD Green. We thought it would be funny to mix and match.

I'll probably eventually switch back to straight Coyote when the rail and other stuff arrives.

I finally managed to get to the range today. All I can say is WOW!!!

Great rifle. I wish I had gotten one earlier.

I won't actually take the time to sight it in until the LaRue Free Float Rail arrives in a week or so and I can add the Troy Flip Up Front Site.

All that being said, I ran 7 mags through her.

No Fail to Fire
No Fail to Eject
One Fail to Feed

I believe the FTF was because of the new mags.

I was able to get 4 inch groups of 30 rounds at 25 yards with the EOTech. Not too shabby. I was at an indoor range, and they wouldn't let me shoot the 55 and 62 grain FMJ ammo I brought.

Glad to hear you finally got shooting. They are fun little guns. That EoTech is cool isn't it?

I'm sure I've said it before, but I'll say it again. LaRue makes really good stuff. Of course, only being 15 minutes from their shop helps me out too!!
