Simply. Awesome. I love Great Danes. My Grandpa had them when I was little. I actually used to ride them. I especially like that they didn't bob his ears or tail. BIG DOGS rule. Hell, my mastiff is almost 6 foot when she stands on her hind legs. Really freaks out the people walking by when she jumps on the fence to look over the neighborhood and bark and whine at the passers by. She just doesn't understand why no one will come and give her some lovin'.

HOLLY shat...makes my kids look like toys :-) Actaully Shombay is about
6ft. standing. I just love those great danes just to many health issues with the poor things...breeding for size (which is done often) Isnt a good thing IMHO it should happen naturally. Beaut. of a pup though.

I was thinking about this today, so I got out the tape measure to verify. My Mastiff was up on the fence once again checking out the neighborhood. She stands 5' 8" tall. I was surprised when she just stood there looking at me while I ran out the tape. She is pretty mellow though.

She did scare the crap out of some little kids when they rang the doorbell on Halloween. We left the front door open and took the screen out of the top of the storm door. Door bell rang, and she starts barking and ran to the door, jumped up to look out. I heard a pair of gasps and an "Oh my GOD!!" from one VERY concerned mother. I am pretty sure she envisioned her kids getting eaten.
