I have good news and bad news - depending on how you are about these things.

I have decided to order the latest JD forum knife. I conducted a POLL at the Mickley household and the vote was unanimous.

It will be in solid aluminum frame, red satin finish with black hardware. The JD logo will be on there as it was on the last one. This is for the medium Brend Protech. The blade will be satin finish.

I don't have a final price yet but as soon as I finish up the details with Protech, I will list the price and let you all start your pre-ordering. Pre-ordering/paying saves you $25. I will let you know when the listing is up active on my web site.

Part of this order is also a special run of 20 for a company of soliders in the shit in Afghanistan. We'll (Tubtar and I) will be looking for knife sponsors there. Protech will be kicking in another 5 for this cause.

Anyone that wants to bitch about how this is going down should send their comments to null@numbnuts.com or better yet pony up $10 grand and do it themselves so I can cancel my order.

Minor update. These are due to deliver in 3 weeks. Start gathering your sheckles.

There will be one of each numbered 666 to raffle off that will be donated. One in the JD forum version, the other in the military one we are doing.

The JD version will be numbered sequentially (#1 through 60) as before. #1 and #2 are spoken for already. If you were in on the TR3, you can request that number again and I'll try and get you that one during the prepaid process.

On the logo, do we want to include the words, "Don't make me cut you" or not? This would match the TR3 version but I thought I would ask. This rendering would be very close (I'm guessing) to what this will end up looking like.

I talked to Protech today. I think these will be ready in less than 3 weeks as he sent off the frames to the annodizer already.

The best way(which means easiest for me) is to tell me your matching number when you check out on my web site. No need to PM, email, leave a note here AND comment on check out. Some of you bitches are excited about this. :spacedevil:

I was in the Protech Shop today buying 2 knives directly from Dave :madaddy:. He is a great guy with a top notch crew. :devil1:

While he was giving me a tour of the shop I happened to ask about the JD build. Dave just got all of the handles back from the annodizer today. He had sent one of the original handles from the TR-3 JD knife for them to match. I'd say that the annodizing looks spot on.

He was also in the process of running each of the 50 blades under a surface grinder to just barely remove the marks that are left when they apply the satin finish to remove the grind lines. Sorry if that sounds wordy.. its kind of hard to explain what he was showing me. It just seemed like an additional beautification step for your knives. :devilinheaven:

I'm proud to own one of his knives now and hope to own more in the future. You will love these Brends :decisions

Protech has stepped up again and offered to sell me a very special edition Brend 3. This will have red scales with a special edition damascus blade. Very tricked out, very custom looking. Numbered Special Edition 1 of 1. He is selling us this at a special cost so we can raffle it off to cover the fix-it costs of the A team knives (which is another $600). I've asked him to send us pictures to post but he is a busy guy - as we all are. If he sends pictures, I'll post them. He went on to comment his entire shop of guys has been buzzing about the JD knives and especially this one of kind he has put together for us. He said his guys don't take a personal interest much in these any more since they see so many but they have really been watching this editon.

I need some one to manage this 1of1 raffle. I'm just maxed on time and can't do a good job of it. If some one can help, let me know.

whew, for a minute there i either thought i was in another dimension which would be weird or i thought you have actually been waiting this damn long for a the JD TR-3. that sucks though man its the worst when you are at a no knife zone.

Wow!
I'm really impressed with this one. Everything feels just right: the size, blade grind, and the SNAP!
Used the very nice yellow cloth to wipe it off (not that there was much to wipe off in the first place - but it felt kind of the right thing to do!).

Thanks for putting this together and delivering yet another AWESOME JD forum knife!

Oh my gosh, I got my Jerzee Devil medium Brend on friday and I couldn't be happier! This knife is amazing! The lines are so perfect and the size is right - I think I see more of these in my future. And, of course, it bears the logo of my favorite knife forum.

Also, the price is amazing on this knife - if you haven't got one yet, you really should - most places are selling the plain jane solid black aluminum models for $200 or more! Hell, even if you're ambivalent about the JD logo being on it (don't take it the wrong way, Ron, we all love the JD), get one 'cuz the price is so good. It'll help Tracy and you'll get one of the most beautiful knives Protech has produced to date. And all at the bargain price of $165 - what do you have to lose?

Tracy has done us a real service by extending himself out and getting these made - let's get these knives bought up - I'm seriously considering buying another myself...
