I'm trying to decide between the Executive Scarab and the Tactical Scarab with the grip tape inlays. Please give me your opinion!

Thanks for all of the responses so far. I was really hoping it would be weighted heavily in one direction or the other to make my decision easier, though. I really don't know which one I like better, so please keep the votes coming!

I've always loved the exec. Almost bought one, but an opportunity arose to get a custom right around the same time for just a little more, and I got a hp troodon instead. I just hate the skate tape on the reg models it tears up your pants.

When I'm not at work I like to carry the Executive model with a plain stonewash blade. At work I carry the regular QD model with inserts. Both are amazing knives, but I tend to lean a little more towards the Exec. model.

Since I only have the Executive model, I'll have to vote for it.

i like the executive personally. My second favorite is taking the grip tape out of a regular scarab and then you have the best of both worlds.

Exec. for sure. Skate tape is for skate decks and pool steps.

It should be obvious how I voted.

I like my early 2007 DE partially serrated except for the spring noise other than that it's a bad ass knife!! i'd like to give it inlays like the Makora II the grip tape is practical but not needed by me.

Other than my Scarab with Abalone inlays that all black shown above is the sweetest Scarab I've ever seen! Great piece Desktop!

that all black one is awesome. definitely think i would prefer the executive. i dont have a scarab, but i have a ut6 and a ums. ultratech slip in my pocket and the skate tape on my ums shreds pants as people have said.

Early QD's are my choice.
Ditch the skate tape and go with a silver carbon fiber inlay to save on pocket linings.
I have a couple execs , but the smooth sides don't inspire a confident grip when using for me.
The later skate tape has to be some of the cheapest looking shit ever stuck to the side of anything.
The vinyl wood grain on the sides of the '67 Ford Country Squire station wagons had more class.
