Hey Rick , thanks buddy I wont claim I invented it but, I hope I aided in its development. I guess you are the only member who likes japanese stuff. Oh well you can't please everyone but, you can dam sure please yourself. I just polished those 2 suminagashi blades last night and they sure look purdy... Bubba - san

This is a tanto I made from my own damascus , all the fittings are made from an alloy ( shibuichi) 4% silver .999 and copper and about 2 % gold . The tsuka is made from flame maple . the steel is 1095 and a nickol alloy . I hope it looks ok . I always show my stuff to get a little feedback before I ship something . thanks for looking sorry about picture quality I may have set exposure wrong

Nice!! Sure will make a great overall Packagehttp://www.jerzeedevil.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif
Is this Tanto basically the same length as the Double Hamon blade?
Also, Are you wrapping the handle on that one, Or fitting it with wood as you did the Damascus Tanto?

The double hamon blade will be purely traditional with tsukamaki ( wrapped handle , menuki ) I am going to use some antique nihonto fittings for the handle It should turn out ok If I take my time. the damascus blade is about 10" wheras the double hamon is around 12 " almost a wakizashi about 1/4 " short !

HHMMMM, Interesting!!
I sure have learned a lot of correct terminology for These fine Tools Bubba.
Of Everything i have own/collected over the years I have never had Much Interest in Japanese influenced knives.
It's never to late to collect and learn about them.

That double hamon is wild! I love the looks of it.
Stabber isnt the only one interested in Japanese style blades, just the only one with enough money to suffice that urge! :ross:
I'm just a window shopper, "oooh! lookey at the shiney stuff!" :schmoove:
