Just wanted you to be aware that, I am from the south. Born and raised. All my family is from the south and and damn proud of it. I am 100% redneck and proud of that also. I didn't just find some cool quote, it's been tacked up in my aunt's living room since I can remember. Maybe judging a book by it's cover isn't always the nicest thing :nono: How about you come and register and we can talk about our southern experiences together. Don't be skeered, come on in :-D

Hell I am in the South but we are being invaded, help. Fuckin yankees and mexicans in Abingdon. Hell, I would rather speak Spanish than have to listen to another yankee talk about "our historic town". :dammit: They scream keep Wal-Mart out, fuck'em. Had to drive 15 miles to get chrome naked ladies for my mud flaps. :dammit:

Memories of the south, hmmm...
I lived in Florida for a while, and was stationed in Georgia in the Army, so I lived down south about 7 or 8 years.
The iced tea in the south pretty much sucks!
Too many bugs.
Good barbeque! Kentucky has the best I have had so far, South Carolina and Arkansas are a close second.
The deer taste funny compared to ours up here.
Too many bars have never heard of Becks or Guiness :???:
Good fishing!
The people there are too hung up on the Civil War, many of them seem to have forgotten that they lost.
Too muggy.
One of my customer's up here also has a plant in the south, North Carolina if I remember correctly. They require all their prospective employees to take a placement test, just to test their reading and math skills. They found that they had to lower their scoring standards for the plant in North Carolina, because too many people were failing their placement test and they couldn't fill there employee needs.
The South isn't bad, but the Midwest is best!

Uh I drink Guiness :gogdog: :gogdog: But if I am broke Miller or PBR. Not everyone from the South fought with us. Many fought for the North, well the ones who kuld reed and cypher & such. :D :D :D

:ar15: :boboli: :ar50: Texas as a Republic. 1836-1845
During nearly ten years of independence, the Texas republic endured epidemics, financial crises and still-volatile clashes with Mexico. But it was during this period that unique accents of the Texas heritage germinated. Texas became the birthplace of the American cowboy; Texas Rangers were the first to use Sam Colt's remarkable six-shooters; Sam Houston became an American ideal of rugged individualism. Texas joined the United States on December 29, 1845. The red, white and blue Texas state flag with its lone star (the same flag adopted by the republic in 1839) today flies virtually everywhere: on government buildings, schools, banks, shopping malls, and even on oil derricks.
http://www.pinette.net/chris/flags/texas/tx-gonz.gif
Also known as "Old Come and Take It", this flag was created due to the Mexican demand to give up the cannon that the Texans in Gonzales under Colonel John H. Moore had borrowed from the Mexican garrison in San Antonio. A single shot in early October 1835 kept the Mexicans from retaking the cannon.

OhOhSeven.....do you mean the Drive south by Sheridan (or was it Sherman...hmm) burning and looting?
And for those who like The Band with Lavon Helm...and like history...he did an album with Johnny Cash, Khris Khristoforson and EmmyLou Harris about Jesse James and the James-Younger gang....good stuff. Even think they put it on CD.
I'm from Virginia originally from a little town called Winchester. It changed sides 98 times during the Civil War...

To you or to pa ? Once you get past the banjo music and interfamalial intercourse , it's a right nice place.
Myrtle Beach , the buckle of the bible belt......where it is illegal to have a beer on the beach when it is about a thousand degrees in the shade......fucking savages.
I've spent a ton of time down there and do love it .
Laid back and no bullshit. Good food and good people......as long as they aren't trying to arrest me.
