E-Z Pass is quick & easy...

...only problem is I don't belong! Coming off exit 12 of the turnpike in Carteret I always shoot over to the right hand lane, pay my toll & then hug the right lane of the exit for my turn-off. Well today I did that & ... surprise... only lanes open are 2 E-Z Pass lanes & one 'pay as you go' on the other side of the row of booths. One fool was out there tryin' to back up & get to the other end of the booths because he didn't belong to E-Z Pass either! I took the safe & easy option through one of the muther fukin' E-Z Pass booths; smiled for the camera & gave the 'finger'! Now for my question... does anyone know what the fine will be when they send my bill in the mail? I'm thinking it's gonna be $100 or more! :idunno:

I don't know what happens to you guys in New Jersey but heres a story from a few years ago from Massachusetts. The Mass. Turnpike has the EZ pass also and it is fairly well known that your first time through without the pass or paying results in receiving a written warning in the mail...no bill or fine.
Some fine citizen without a pass ran through the gate and received the warning a few days later which stated he would be fined the next offense. Feeling guilty, this guy mailed back a check for his unpaid toll and said he really felt bad and wanted the Turnpike Authority to take the check.
The check went back and forth several times and the story finally came out in the Boston Globe that the Turnpike Authority had no way of being able to enter this check into their accounting system. Last I heard, the case was in court and the citizen was sueing because they wouldn't take his dough:idunno:

the amount of the tolls plus a 25.00 dollah fee!

Nothing in the mail yet! Maybe the camera wasn't working? :idunno: I came back from the Meadowlands this past Saturday & the regular toll lane was 'open'! $25 + the toll... that's not too bad, Ron! Anywho... I made enough money at the track to more than cover the fine should it arrive.
