Gotta chime in on the side of the wimmen folk here. It is definately not alright to beat up the Mrs. , or the Ms. or the bitch if that is what she is. If things are that bad , then you are an asshole for staying involved and should look at your own behavior and shortcomings first. Es-fucking-specially when there are kids around to witness that shit. Twice in my life I have shown a spousal abuser what it feels like to be on the recieving end of the deal. I don´t know if I changed their attitudes but I did explain why I was beating their asses and I felt much better afterwards. Two wrongs don´t make a right , but after two rights....it is time for the boots. It has taken much time and much soul searching to come to this place......but I used to be the fucking asshole who would hit his old lady. And the whole spectrum of fucked up behavior that accompanies this as well. Not no more. If doing this seems to be getting close to reality for you , stop and look at what is involved. Hey thanks man! That was actually the first time I had ever called the Man on anyone. The situation wasn't like a loud party upstairs though so I didn't have much of a choice. He still hasn't shown up since yesterday so I'm thinkin' they got him. I still placed loaded firearms in strategic locations throughout the house (more than usual). I called the police one night. I was drivin home about 4AM after some beers. I saw a car in the ditch and stopped to help. The driver said that he had called a friend to help and for me not to call the cops because he had no insurance. I saw a younger girl in the front seat and she was hurt real bad. I told him to get her to the doctors or at least let me take her. He said no and used the insurance thing. I hated it for him but her head was a mess and bleeding too much not to not do anything. I called the cops and they were more worried about who I was. I told the lady what I saw a that I was going to bed, did all I could.

Sometimes its best to call the cops if you can. Some friends were campming in a cove at the lake. To make a long story short this guy on the other side was beating a woman and they told him to stop or the would kick his ass. He said that he would show them. Went into the tent and got a pistol and started shooting. Most people are crazy if they get to the point of beating a woman.

OK, I will admit that the ONE and ONLY time I have ever condoned the beating of a woman was the movie Sugar just posted up. That was funny shit.

That said, beating a woman is differnent than striking a woman. Beating implies that you are pounding on a helpless victim. I have hit women in the line of duty. Hell, I decked a bull dyke that started a bar fight with me once (I may or may not have been using a line from the boondock saints at the time...) by punching me in the back of the head. BUt that's just fightin'. Not beating. once your target is helpless, it becomes beating, and that's not cool at all.

Hitting or beating someone, regardless of their sex, is always situational. I have hit both men and women. If beating means doing something to someone so that they will stop getting up to continue coming after you and giving you time to get away from the situation, I have done that. I have never taken pleasure in the fact that someone got hurt.

If you beat them down for that shit they are gonna come outta jail or the hospital or the coma and go home to repeat the same shit. And then theres the women who come back for more again and again. Whether they like it, are dependant financially or phsychologically, or are so programmed through a disfunctional upbringing they'll never leave. Thats just it, the cycle of abuse, so the passer by or whoever that gets involved needs to think about who they are fighting for, the abused woman or themselves. Either or its not gonna have the positive impact for the woman you think.

Good point. A friend of mine was out riding the edge of his property on his horse and heard a woman takin a beating by her old man on the property next door and my friend road closer to inspect the situation. Guy was going at it, so my friend got off his high horse and worked this guy over. As he has him straddled and is working from the top, the wife hit my friend square in the back of the head with a rather large board and told him to get the fuck off her man and get the fuck off her property. He was making the situation worse for her and when this big mother fucker woke up, she was the one that was going to have to tend to his big ass.


I will still intervene, but I will never turn my back on both of them. People are just plain weird, anymore...
