Fowler, Slim Stone Mtn. Courtesy of Stephen Fowler himself.

Info from Mr. Fowler....

For this knife I was really focusing on making a slimmed down version of my Stone Mtn model.

Steel: 1084
Thickness: 3/16
Blade: 3 3/4 " Drop point
O/A: 7 3/8"
Grind: Flat with a convex edge bevel
Finish: 2000 grit paper with etched Hamon
Handle: 1/8" Black canvas micarta with red and black spacers, I wanted to go for a slimmer profile handle than usual and I think it came out great
Sheath: Dark brown leather pouch

I will be passing this knife to jimmyjo tomorrow.

I think when Stephen set out to make slimmer profile handle he did a great job. Put the knife through some small cutting chores and all went well. The knifes profile makes it a good choice for EDC.

Thank you Mr. Fowler for letting us put your knife to work and I would like to thank Pat:madaddy: for making this passaround happen.

I got the knife today and all I can say is " I thought you'd be bigger". Good things come in little packages.

the biggest thing I want input on is the handle.

How short is too short?
How thin is too thin?

I want to make it as thin and short as reasonable because I find that to be much more "comfortable" to carry. however, not as comfortable to use. so where is the balance?

I think this particular knife did well balancing the two extremes, but I want input from the devils here

I don't have large hands and I would have liked another half in in length on the handle, it just felt like my picky was always on back edge/end of the handle. The thickness was fine.

I like the handle size. What a think I'd like is a finger guard or a larger base at the end of the blade. It seems kind of sharp a little to close to my flesh. I think if I drove it into someone ribs I'd end up with one less digit. I do like this design. When I saw the pass around pics I thought this knife was big. It has a large knife in an easy to pack size.
