I love hippies, and I'm almost positive I wil be scolded by B when he comes home for that comment. But really, I have aunts that find it perfectly normal to "float" as they say in the pool with no tops on while smoking doobies. If you question then, they get confused as to hat the problem is :D :D :D :D

I think my biggest problem with four more years of Bush willbe the prolonged destruction. It is like having your fingernails ripped off one by one with a popcicle stick. Sure you can use your hands just fine without the nails, but it hurts like a bitch and the overall appearance suffers. :pugalist: A slow motion pummeling if you will.

Trixie

Translation: Bush doesn't mess up all at once, it is more like a slow drain on society that erodes the foundation beneath. So the next four years will be 4 years of prolonged mistakes.

Why should church and state be intertwined, Bush isn't pro-gun, he's just neutral to what the republican party does, and as for freedom... one (well two) words, patriot act.

Trixie
11-03-2004, 10:35 PM
one word, patriot act.

I'll echo that one. Two points.

borinquen
11-03-2004, 10:52 PM
actually the patriot act was set in motion by bill clinton following the oklahoma city bombing.leave it to liberals and the biased media to call it a GW invention :bashyou:

just think of the drain on our society if kerry would have won-no limits on abortions, appeasement of criminals and terrorists, stricter gun control, furthering the gay agenda including gay marriage, higher taxes, giving human cloning the green light.
just more moral decay from the radical left.
thank God he didn't win :doublefu:

He signed it as president, with support from nearly ALL democrats and republicans. Clinton was a moron, but in his later years as president, all anyone really cared about was who he fucked. But Bush has fucked up more then Clinton ever could.

First, I'm prochoice. Second, Kerry and Bush have nearly identical agendas when it comes to "terrorism". Gun control is bullshit, and Bush would take all the guns owned by every US citizen if he could get away with it, any GOVERNMENT would. Gay marriage, it isn't the governments buissiness in the first place, if two guys or two girls really want to go out of their way to sing a contract, let them.

BennytheBlade

I would be fine w/ that, but thats not what they want, they want MARRIAGE. They want it to be the SAME as when a man and woman are married. People misinterpret seperation of church and state. They werent saying keep the church out of the state, they were saying keep the STATE out of the CHURCH. A reaction to the Anglican church, freedom of religion and all that.

Trixie
11-03-2004, 11:27 PM
Regardless of how you feel on gay rights, is a problem when states are putting on the ballots amendments to the constitution, that basically is writing in discrimination to the same people it is sworn to protect. Gay or not gay, the principle is that you do not write in discrimination to the constitution, where or not the people agree, it is a matter of principle. We amend the constitutions to give rights, not take them away. Ie... in the national constitution amendments 13-15.

With abortion. I am proabortion. If state is suppose to stay out of church, than state should also stay out of personal decision. Like the pharmacist all over the east coast that are denying women the morning after pill, which is illegal btw. they can deny the pill but they still have to refer them to someone who will give the women the pills. Now they have made it legal in at least 5 states for pharmacist to outright reject women and not refer them for religious or moral reasons.

BennytheBlade
11-03-2004, 11:44 PM
I cant say I agree w/ the amendments, to me it seems like a political football to help someone get reelected or whatever. I dont have a problem w/ civil unions, just the religious aspect of marriage. The state needs to not get involved w/ it imo.

stay out of personal decision
We will have to agree to disagree about that, I dont see ending life as a personal decision. Ive said this elsewhere, but Im adopted, and I am glad I was not a 'personal decision' to someone, but a child.

*shrug* as if to imply those are bad things. overrated.

I state it flatly; those are bad things. :hityou:

If gay marriage is none of the gov'ts business then they should stop trying to get gov't sanction for it. :punish:
