I figured you might want to SEE this one.

I made MYSELF a Smaller Version of A Natchez.
http://barkriverknives.com/albums/2/Rogue.jpg

It's not finished yet. The Blade is a little over 6 inches from the front of the bolster. It's full exposed Tang. the Bolsters are biased Cut Black Palm. The Handle Slabs are Preimium Grade Bocote. All the Pins are Mosaic. The spacer is Nickel Silver.

Just for the size comparison--Here it is with me Full Size Rogue.
http://barkriverknives.com/albums/2/Two_Rogues.jpg

I'll finish it up in the next day or so and post a finished shot.

The handle is much smaller but fits my hand well. I made the blade wider than the production version we did last year.

I'm goin' to have Spen make me a traditional sheath that will attach to my Possibles kit.

What D Ya Think?

O.K.

I just finished convexing it.

I like it a lot. Quite a cutter.

Here is the handle.

This is smaller but as I said above. it fits me perfectly.

The final weight was 8.8 ounces.

Off the Spen for a sheath.

That looks great Mike! I really like the shape of the blade. From the picture the Bocote really looks like Walnut, I LIKE IT!

Mike, keep it away from Leslie, she might sell the Damn thing!! :D:

Scott,

Did you notice that it does not have a logo ?

I'm not puttin' one on it--she can't sell it without a Logo.

Hey guys,

I just go it back from Spen & Dan. They made me a sheath for it.

I will take it out this weekend and give it a test drive.

I made this one from 1095. I cut it out--fully annealed it--Brought it up to Non Magnetic--Quenched It--Triple Tempered it--Cryoed it and Double Tempered it again. I like working in 1095 for some of my own knives and Our Traditional stuff like the Dadleys, Sheepskinner, Mountian Man Etc.. I still prefer A-2 but I rarely have any left over from our production runs.

Here is the sheath.

It's exactly what I wanted. I do have an old Mountian-Man / Native American Style sheath for it too ( BrassTacks and Horsehide). I'll use this one in the field and the traditional one while I'm Huntin' with my Muzzleloader.

This Natchez is just the right size for me to actually have with me. I pack light when I hunt and this is big enough to do any job I might have to do if I can't get out of the Woods or have to stay overnite..

I'll let you know how it batons. I kind of already know how it chops. I hacked the heck out of a treated and dried 4 x 4 post to test the edge geometry brfore I finished the blade out.

Thanks for your interest in it. I very rarely get to make one for me.

Can't wait to show you the next one.

Hey Guys,

I actually ended up making another one.

I made one almost just like mine for Ray--(Nasty)

We should ask him to give a short review.

No time for a full review this morning since I have to get to work, but it does everything you could ask of a daily working size knife. Mine is essentially the same as Mikes...Bark treated 1095 and beautiful in Antique Ivory Micarta, Web Turquoise and Amboynia Burl. It's sharp, pointy, well balanced and currently serving duty as my escort answering the door at night.

Good bump Ron, means newbs like me get to see it. Very nice piece Mike, lovely lines, something a bit differnt from the norm I see (from the UK market at least).

And a very nice sheath as well, love the thonging to hold the handle - great idea!
