My Father's Day knife came a day late that my wife bought me but I am stoked anyway.
I am sure most of you recognize it being an R J Martin Devastator.
Thanks to Luana I finally have my first R J Martin!!

HOWDEE' LARRY!! Sweet Martin, as I've got the very same model!! Who woulda thunk it?!?! I know you'll love it. Btw, that big wide titanium pocket clip sure does torch up nice and whatever pattern you end up with pretty much matches the rest of the knife. Food for thought.

I don't post(heavy lurker though) often unless it is something special, and my wife is special!! Also getting an R J Martin is special. I been wanting one for a long time, and being patient my dream came true.
It is truly a great mega folder, and I like mega folders of which my favorite is my Phil Boguszewski Large Classic but this Devastator is a good 2nd. With the 4 1/4" blade, and overall length of 9 1/2" it qualifies.
Those of you who have held/own one of Martin's knives know how well they are made, and how sharp they are.
Thanks for the info Art, and will keep it in mind but torches makes me nervous, and may have to get someone else to do it if I decide to customize it so I don't mis-heat the clip, and make it black or something :)
I knew if you had 4 of them over time that I could not be happier, and the wife knowing I been wanting one sprung for it. I was going to get one soon at the BAKCA Show coming up in August but she surprised me by getting it now.
What a beauty!!!!!!!!!

Hey Larry, I read where you said you got the Martin from Ric Owen in Va. If so then it is one of the 4 I've had! It may already have the torched clip. Good going!!

That is correct it came from Ric Owen but does not have the torched clip, it has the satin finish version which I am glad as some came with beadblasted clips, and I like the satin finish better.
Anyway, he said after he got it from you it went in the safe, and stayed there being where he lives is not sheeple friendly, and another knife came up he wanted but his wife is not like mine, and had to sell the Martin to finance the other knife so it was as it came from you, and like NIB other than pocket carry, and had original edge on the blade.
As I said I am pleased, and the good wife was able to save a few bucks over original price.
I love getting your leftovers :)
