View Full Version : I'm a guinea pig!

I walked into the barbershop today and noticed there were 2 people in front of me. I went to sit down and wait my turn when all of a sudden Vito, the owner, comes over and says to me... "Thisa my nephew... he cut you hair." So I shake the young fellow's hand and say to Vito... "Has he ever cut hair before, Vito?" "No... you be his first!" So I sit in the chair and the kid (not me) is all nervous and excited. I tell him to take it easy and both of us will make it through the ordeal. I look over at Vito and say... "Hey Vito... did you tell your nephew here that I was your first customer when you first started here?" "Yes sir and I'm still in business... that's why I wanted you to be his first!" So the young guy gives me a haircut. A little slow and careful but otherwise a decent haircut. I got to admit at the end when he put the shaving cream on my neck and brought the straight razor over, I had the arms of the barber chair in a strangle hold. But that even turned out good. The haircut is usually $14 and I figured I'd give the kid a $5 tip as his first customer. Vito takes care of the cash register so I hand him a $20 bill. He says the haircut is on the house but if I would give the kid a tip that would be OK. I thank Vito and go over to the kid and hand him a $10 bill and tell him to loosen up, learn from your Uncle Vito and I'll see you next time. Everybody has to get experience somehow... right?

Hey, good outcome to a good deed, I can handle that. I'd probably be a bit paranoid if someone was cutting their teeth on my hair, but girl hair's a different beastie.

Au contraire, Bruce... you must have me confused with deker. I'm the guy who has some hair on top, has 2 scotch sours, and orders shrimp parmigana to go just so I have something to bring home for Casper! :manganr:

Thought I'd ressurect this thread since I had my hair cut this past Monday. It made me think of the history of this shop. I used to go to this same barbershop since about the age of 10. (1957) The owner and #1 barber was Lou Scavuzzo. I was given an extra $2.00 by my father (lunch at school used to be $0.25) to get my hair cut after school. It was about a 1/2 mile walk through the woods, across a stream and on up to the small group of stores in the Clarkton shopping center. Hopefully you went on any weekday except Wednesday... that's when Lou was 'closed'. A haircut cost $1.50 and Lou got a $0.50 tip. Then I'd make the 2 mile trek home.
Somewhere around 1980 Lou passed away but his business had been sold to the present barber, Vito... I must admit, I don't know Vito's last name. I was Vito's first customer! Vito gives a great haircut and lot's of customers will wait to have Vito give them a haircut instead of one of the other barber's. Me... I'll take whoever is available when it's my turn, only been disappointed with a haircut once in the 52 years I've been going to this establishment. The price of a haircut has gone up over the years and Vito now charges $16 for a regular haircut. I hand him a $20 bill and tell him "Thanks".
My hair was growing way over my ears and the back hung over my collar. I usually tell Vito to trim the sides so the hair is 'off' my ears, light trim on top and 'square' the back. Monday I just told him to 'cut' off the grey... :cheesydevil:

The same barber has been cutting my hair since 1969. When he retires it's going to be an emotionally upsetting experience for me since he now works alone and there's no one to replace him.:bruce:

It depends on which midget you are referring too. Casper was on the rug at my feet; Ron doesn't live at my house. :cheesydevil:

I got my hair cut on Monday also. The women who cuts it for the past few years is real good and just knows what to do without all the questions. Above the ear, under the ear, length in back? To be honest, I don’t even know the answers to these questions. This women runs the joint and has all kinds of customers from old men to young girls. The girls that work there are hot and they get hotter every time I go in. Sometimes my lady is busy and she hooks me up with one of the girls. No problem, my hair is like Moe and any skill level can cut it. Just don’t ask me what I want. The old lady tells the girls what to do.
Monday, she’s busy and asks if one of the girls can do it. Sure I say. Out from the break room comes an early 20-something that is one of the hottest girls I have seen in person. :omg: I’m thinking “this is model material” it did not help that her see through shirt was over a see through bra and she was hanging out like a stripper. All I could see was long jet black hair the face of a 20 year old goddess and nipples. :yum: What are the odds that she was the type that was always leaning in over you for each cut? 100% is the odds.
I’m 46, I was getting a lap dance and hair cut at the same time and to keep things in order I’m trying to think of Baseball, Football anything. When the haircut was over and she ran her hands through my hair for like the 10th time I had no idea what it looked like. :dizzy: I can tell you exactly what her ass looks like but not my hair. When I got home, it was the shortest my hair has been in 25 years or more. Ya know, I like it too.
It was the best haircut ever.
And that’s my happy haircut story. http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/3940/1happy.gif

Doc... I get a haircut maybe 6 - 7 times a year. If my barber was a 20ish, attractive woman, I'd probably be paying twice as much and getting a haircut every other week! :cheesydevil: I felt sorry for the guy in the chair next to me... he paid double what I did and got his ear 'nicked' 3 times in the process. He couldn't stop turning his head to watch her. :ssmile:

I might 'look' serious but I was 'thinking' smiley thoughts. You mean I don't look happy with my Santa hat on?
