I did something I thought I would never do, I made a sub 3 inch folder. I made a Mini Scrapper with a 2 1/2 inch blade, 5 3/4 overall open. Cute little bugger but I was wondering for you guys that buy these little shit folders:~) do you prefer a clip? I kind of like to just drop these little knives on my pocket, I started making a little flat steel clip for this one but not sure if I should put one on it or not? I could do a carved clip but it would make the knife a little thick or bulky....Your thoughts on this greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Matt

Matt,

The clip is a great option. Maybe you could make a clip with an optional insert if the person wants to take it off. I personally like the clip , I hate having things lay in the bottom of my pants pocket.

Matt-Great little knife-I agree-an optional insert in case th clip was removed is nice, but either way that is a super knife!!!

Out of all of your other pieces that I have seen, that is by far my favorite. It all just seems to work well in those ratios. I can appreciate the beauty and functionality of your other stuff, but for me personally, this is the first knife of yours that has really spoken to me.

I would prefer a clip on a knife like that, even though it is small. With cell phones, car keys, change, other knives and whatnot loading down my pockets I prefer to have the knife I want to use clipped to my pocket. I would want it with one of your carved clips.

I also find that without pocket clips the one hand opening can be somewhat more difficult on some knives. The clip gives the other fingers something to get traction on while the thumb is opening the blade.

Of course a removable clip would be the best of both worlds, but from what I have seen few of your clips are readily detachable.

Just my two cents.

Very nice knife indeed.

A clip is a must.

I hate having a knife loose in the pocket. Always seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or trying to slide out as you sit or move.

I don't think it would look finished without a clip. Your clip work is especially nice.

Matt, Very nice!!!!!!!!! You know I like clips... I made you put one on this overlay knife so I would carry it. But on one this small, I think its better suited to ride in the pocket without a clip.

If no clip, you'll have to fizz that side as well.

I don't like the look or feel of them except for larger knives. I liked the older Microtech OTF knives like Combat Talons, HALOs etc. without clips. I have a Scarab and Ultratech and will take them off some day. I would like to see a clip filler like Chris Reeves makes for my Ultratech. They are useful but I find that I hit everything with them.

Do you use a pouch then?

Surely you don't let them sit in your pocket loose?

I will use a pouch or put them in my back pocket behind my wallet. I carry a M-UDT loose in my pocket and just like small knives for EDC.

Great idea, it gives you a choice if you want to use it or not.
