I get to name my incoming daughter and need some ideas. I went through many sites and books and am open to new ideas.
Just for reference, I currently have 2 children. My daughter from a previous relationships name is Paige Aryana (mom named her) and my son's name is Odin James (I named him) I am open to just about anything. I don't want it to be TOO common. First or First and Middle combo names are appreciated. Right now, on my list are the following:
-Coral
-Kazya Lee or Kayza May
-Blaise Irene (Irene being after my grandmother)
-Daisy Lee
-Gwendolyn (Gwen for short)
-Giovanna
Many more out there. Thing is, when I hear the name, I don't want to relate it to some freak I have met throughout my life, so that has eliminated allot of names. Just throw some out there for me :)

How about Freya?
Tried that, deal is, Although I have final say on the name, they got to be approved by wife and Freya didn't make it and it doesn't exactly do that much for me either. I like it b/c it matches Odin, but you know....
Its hard to find a Norse girls name as they are all so masculine, like Helga or Gerta :-D
I hear you. Eowyn from Lord of the Rings is nice, or Merry from it's older meaning of "blessed".

Magnus is a way wicked name and I got outvoted on it when my son was born. Girls name I am not sure about, but Raven is pretty cool. I do like Paige and Abbygail though.
Edit to throw Morgan in the mix too :-D
Heather? Sounds nice but evokes windswept moors.

I started with the 'A's & came up with these:
Adelina - means Noble
Aila - ?
Aithne - means Little Fire
Alarice - means The Ruler of All
Then I just started looking for anything:
Karita - means Loving & Benevolent (my favorite)
Viveka - means Lively (2nd choice)
Good luck to you & the missus! :salute:

Mr. The Bad Guy,
I always waited until after birth before... er, after the birth before I named my kids. Ya just got to look at'em and say, OK thats a Fred, or thats a Rita, or thats not mine, er... you get the gist.....
Best regards,
Bonz

TBG,
No offense, but Daisy Lee may not be something she would appreciate in years to come. Hopefully, I am not being out of line here. Feel free to virtually bitch slap me if that is the case, but just my opinion.
ON a more positive note, I am partial to Madelyn.

My first son was named after my father first then her father. Second son, my mothers father first then her mothers father second. Had decided on tradition and not some cool sounding name. I am on my third wife and am crazy about her. I know I am a sweet bastard and I love her name Sandra Kay. Both names are Greek in origin. Sandra is short for Alexandra.
I had a tree hugger work for me and she named her son Blue Sky Canyon.

Did you pummel her repeatedly about the head and shoulders with a blunt instrument? :hityou:
As far as Valkyrie, you could call her Val for short, too.
How about Irene Lee for your Mum and Grandma?

keeping up the viking theme, the names randy and daunte come to mind. :poke:
ok but in all seriousness, i like the name Paige. Raven is also a sweet name, if she has straight black hair, but sometimes kids get driven crazy if their names are even remotely similar to something else. i grew up hating my name (bendibble) but after about 6 years i learned to cope with it. kids are nuts.

Haha, your name is Ben Dibble :D
Just kidding! Imagine having to teach everyone individually how to spell your name wherever you go
That's what kills me when people give their kid a fairly common name and spell it a different way, so the kid spends the rest of it's life spelling it's name for people. :punish:

-Grace
-Gracie
-Lilian Grace
-Lily
For guys, I am a sucker for Sebastion, but that'll probably red flag him for pummeling at school.
-Coden
-Jax
Would probably establish more dominance.
