Good beaver tails are not drop in parts and require modification to frame.
There are drop in parts, but I have never personally liked them. Often the drop in part is not drop in. Very common to have to recut the foot on the grip safety for proper clearance of the back of the trigger when depressed.

The extended slide release is sort of pointless. That Control can be properly operated by the off hand thumb when a correct two hand fireing grip is achieved.

Many after market Extended Slide releases are not properly sized and will also need fitting. Getting the Detent to ride the release properly is not always easy and may even take specialized tools.

After all this if your still dead set on changing what is a very good design I suggest Brownells as a parts source and Ed-brown, Wilson, ChipMcCormak as possible brands.

i use my off hand now to release the slide......shot a custom Kimber this week with all the tricks and it seemed like a cool "add on"..i do think the current system works, except for the beavertail safety. the Kimber had the longer beavertail and it felt excellent while shooting....going back to my stock one , it still bit into the top of my hand a little. thanks for the advice, i have a person (professional gunsmith) who wants to do the work....its just about the $$$ and drop in fits the budget right now, but i think i will wait and do it right.

thanks again big jim
