And I'm finally figuring out how the thing works. If any of you (besides VampyreWolf of course) appreciate a good cup of coffee you should give one of these a try. It gives a much smoother brew than drip makers. Now all I need is a damn burr grinder and I'll be all set (yeah right).

 :mack:

I was drinking coffee from 11pm-3am last night, slept 0400-1000, and waiting on fresh stuff right now

Does a French press only work with French coffee?

any coffee will work. The secret is in the grind.

I have my burr mill set to #5 of 12 sizes, doesn't leave a layer of sediment in the bottom.

I'm a big fan of the french press, but have come to prefer the aero press instead to get an even better cup... for $25 I promise it'll blow your skirt up :cheesydevil:

I agree, but also think the water temperature is just as important - 10 or 15 degrees makes a massive difference in taste.

electric tea kettle. Brings it just under the boiling point, right where we want it.

Definitely the way to go :devilinheaven: Sure beats a meat thermometer :)

All this talk is making me want a cup.

I only get a cup early in the morning, damn blood pressure. Means I have to wait till breakfast for coffee now.

I do find though the the french press works great for loose leaf tea. I have pouches to make loose tea in my travel mug, but it's far easier to use the press.

There's a reason I have the user title I do, and this smilie :vwolf:
