Anyone here have any of the knives from Fallkniven's Northern Lights series. I know someone mentioned them to me briefly in the past, but I just rediscovered them and the entire series has my eye.
Anyone have any idea how many different models there were??
I have seen 5 so far
-Odin
-Thor
-Frey
-Njord
-Idun
Wonder if there are more??
I also saw a picture of a damascus Idun and it looked pretty damn good.
Even there sheaths are cool

yeah, unfortunatly they seem to be expensive.
They range between $200-$400. Thats why I want to hear from a few folks that have handled one to see if they are worth it. I actually like VG-10 allot and its suppose to be laminated VG-10 :help:
I dig the leather stacked handles and love the sheaths. Now the question is are they high prefomance and how is there fit and finish?

There are indeed only 5 to this point. The last one out is also available in damascus as you mention, the others are not. I have one of each, with the regular version of the Idun-not the damascus one. (It is like 4 or 5 times the price of the 'regular' one.) Fit and finish seems excellent to me. They are tanks, IMO. I have never actually used one, I got them to be more of dust collectors....err.... I mean collectors.
They are actually made to be users and I think they would be outstanding. I don't have acutally dimensions in front of me but they are NOT flimsy knives. Thick heavy blades. I think they would stand up to some serious use!!
Those prices you mention are MSRP I believe. Although they are never going to be cheap, deals can be had if you know where to look. :-D
I am not sure if they are planning any more to the series.

I actually got them with the intent to resell. I posted the first couple on KFC and got no interest, and by that time was starting to like them a lot. So I decided just to keep 'em.

Those are cool knives! I've seen and held an Odin, and that is one serious hunk-o-steel! Very stout, great fit and finish, if I had the money I would have one in a heartbeat. :gogdog:
