i did not intend for this to be so overdue, but the pictures i'd taken and planned on using were deleted by my roommate (it was his camera i took them with) and i've had to rethink my review format more than once without having the pictures to backup my writing.

anyway...

the blade itself is awesome. it's full-tanged and thick enough to be adequately strong for just about anything you'd use it for. personally, i use knives of this size mostly in the kitchen. i don't eat or prepate meat, so it's strictly fruits and vegetables. most of my vegetables i chop up on a cutting board or from my hand into a bowl or pot. for chopping the digger was perfect. for fruit slashing (i lop off pieces in my hand and eat them directly) it was equally perfect.

i also murdered somecardboard just to see if the blade thickness slowed it down any. again the digger was a totally acceptable tool.

i didn't really use the digger outside of home as i usually prefer to carry a larger blade for heavier or work related chores.

my only comments for design change are that the top most finger groove keeps your finger hard against the bottom corner part of the blade. it in effect is 'digging' into the finger and after a little while does causes enough discomfort that i had to massage the little mark it was making. prolonged use would probably give you a blister if you didn't have heavy calluses (like i do). otherwise the handle fit comfortably in my hands. the other suggestion i have is for the horizontal carry sheath. the belt loop has the stitching on the outer most side. i don't think it would take very long before it frayed and came apart. it appears that the loop is glued onto the other half of the sheath. it would probably make a huge difference keeping the stitching on the inside as it would get a lot less traffic. you could even put a little glue or epoxy on the stitches (just a little so that it wouldn't be visible on the outside) to protect them. i've got zero experience with leather, so these could be bad ideas. i'm just trying to help the sheath live longer as i personally love leather more than any other sheath material, though kydex and the rest do have their advantages.

overall, it's an awesome piece. the appearance is great. i love the wood (cocobolo wasn't it?) and the blade profile. the temper line is good for a little character too. a neck sheath could possibly add a little more usefullness...

i am very grateful to have been a part of this passaround. i thank Mr. Fowler and Mr. LaBella both. i hope i have been of some help.

yea, the reason I sent two sheaths was that I'm still a little shaky on how to make a horizontal carry for a blade that small.

Im working on developing a magnet attach neck carry sheath for this style atm
