what the hell?? i was watching tv w/ the 'ol man... and we got a lil hankerin' for some ice cream. so i hop into the car and truck my voluptuous ice cream lovin ass to the local friendly's. THEY WERE FRIGGIN" CLOSED!!!!! at 9 pm. because of the "winter storm", the last leaving waiter tells me. and the convience store down the road. same story. why is it that if we get a lil dusting of snow, everyone acts like it's a blizzard coming? they buy all the bread and milk off the shelves, run to home depot and buy up all the shovels, salt, and sand. and they are so quick to cancel school, too, even before seeing how the night goes. we got about 1/4" before and some freezing rain going on now. i suppose the media doesn't help. the fox NY news was just on... proclaiming it "WINTER STORM '07". are they for real? if we get any more than 3 inches, they'd probably call a state of emergency!! :bwah:

so... end to my rant... we ended up w/ wawa's butter pecan. for someone jones-ing a peanut butter cup sundae with cookies and cream... it just wasn't the same!

My wife is coming up there tomorrow, don't know what to believe from the TV I guess she will just have to wait to see if the flight gets canceled.

I looked outside at 21h00 to see some snow coming down.

At 22h30 I heard a truck, saw yellow flashing lights... salting the roads.

22h45, the snow had stopped.

NOAA says that for my town, "total nighttime snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible".

Then there's 80% chance of snow Monday, 60% chance of snow Monday night, 40% chance of snow Tuesday, 20% chance of snow Tuesday night.

The town where I work, just over the Tappanzeebrugge in NY state, the forcast is the same.

My wife and kids are flying back from Europe tomorrow, arriving at JFK at 20h15, and I'm going to pick them up... but there not on a Jet Blue flight.

Oh no, no way.

Now there's an airline that needs to change its name. I don't think anybody will ever buy a Jet Blue ticket ever again.

Sounds like a walk in the park to me... course then again if it's -5 out I will wear shorts... at the very least I won't wear a toque, gloves and won't zip up my jacket, cause that's a nice warm day.
