From my dad, it belonged to his dad. Its a Colt Diamondback in .22 LR. These are supposed to be THE SHIT, I can't wait to shoot it. My aunt lost the original grips so I'll be searching for another pair. The action on this thing is as slick as snot on ice.

WOW! That a beauty! :chuck:
OH MY GOD! That is a beautiful gun. What a score! My father in law has one of those, and I've been lusting after it since the first time I shot it. Fine revolver, and I'll keep an eye out for some factory grips for you if you want.
DAMN what a score! CONGRATS!:wes:

Thanks all. I can't wait to shoot this little tack driver. These are a fine piece of work right down to the smallest detail. Having seen it when I was a kid I always wanted one. When my dad caught wind that I was looking around for one he gave it to me for Christmas. Its had 50-100 rds through it and not a scratch. It looks brand new.
I here tell that the factory grips are actually fairly common (relief) as they fit all Colt D frame revolvers. I am guessing it should be easy to locate a pair. Unfortunately my aunt also lost the box and paperwork. Oh well, no complaints.

Fuck Me! That is THE SHIT!
D-Backs are not the same frame as a Python, which is a shame, since I have four or five spare grips which fit Pythons.
Honestly, I'd see about getting an Eagle grip for that, or try out a set of Hogue Finger Grips Cocobolo - my Python four-inchers get Hogue finger-grooves and shoot VERY well that way, I use Eagles on a couple Troopers and I forget what's currently on the Python six-incher, I'd bet a standard Colt grip is on it.
The smaller Colt's enjoy the finger-grooves but the longer barrels dig the full-size original grips as they balance out the gun nicely.

It's a D frame, same as a Detective Special. I thought it was larger but it would be my pick of a .22 revolver. I just noticed my favorite beer in the pic!
