I just watched Collateral again and noticed the knife Tom Cruise pulled in the club scene. It sure looks like a Sebenza. Did any of you notice it?
What knife was it. :poke:

Was it the same knife as the one he opened in the cab?

Couse this one looks like it is an automatic.

Really cool movie, T.G.! Except for the last 5 minutes which lapses into a predictable ending, I was wondering what was going to happen next through most of the film.
Cruise and Fox did a great job I thought. Nice directing from Michael Mann, who also was very close with the sound guys according to an article I read in MIX magazine.

Good point! The "Making Of" is especially interesting. I think the DVD viewers actually get more than the theater-only viewers did on this one.

That would explain why the gun shots always sound like the real thing in his movies. Heat! Best movie shoot out ever! :gogdog:

Yep, they went out and recorded all the guns you see in the film to make the SFX. Used a close-mic and one a ways away to get that rear-channel slap.
Beautiful cinematography too. Shoot, I might haveta buy that one once BlockBuzzter starts thinnin' the herd.

Cool that they used a good knife and not some POS. 99.99% of the viewers would never know the difference.

Thats true. I think a movie can only be "very good" if they use the right stuff.

With "50Cent worth equipment" the movie can only be good.
Not more than a standard good.

Thats why I like movies like Collateral.

The High Standard .22 with integral supressor is pro gear too. It sounded authentic there in the jazz club. (they didn't use that cliche' Sionics 2-stage sound effect, "pew")
Excellent use of music, I noticed the second time around. Michael Mann is so detail oriented no wonder the product is so good. I guess you could say this one gets the JD seal of approval.

this movie has one of the best scenes in it that I've ever seen

where the guy steals the briefcase belonging to Tom Cruise and gets the speed rock response
