A 1911 Model Any good?? My nephew moved out to Vegas and was thinking of getting one over a Colt 1911. He wants the Armscorp one because it's stainless and has all the bells and whistles. Trigger hammer... Whatchya think?? :punish:

Still looking around. I do not have any first hand experience with them. From what I have found so far, they seem like a pretty decent pistol. The stock Armscor do seem like good deals compared to low end Colts.
I've perused a few posts on 1911Forum.com. I'll keep looking around.

Seems like a good deal in pistols right now. A lot of people have been comparing them to the Norinco of days gone by, except more bells and whistles. Stock they come with a few things that make them nicer to shoot. At the prices they are selling at I think it's hard to go wrong giving it a try.
The one thing I found is to look for a later model pistol. It seems their manufacturing process has been greatly improved as the company grows.
For those that don't know anything about Armscor. This is off the top of my head, so don't hold me to it. They are based out of the Phillipines. I have actually been shooting their ammo for 5 years or so. It is reliable ammo, though a little dirty. Apparently Armscor Pistols and RIA (Rock Island Armory) Pistols are both being produced by Armscor.
Anyway, final verdict: Good gun for the money. Good shooters, durable so far, strong and fairly accurate. Has things that would add another $100-$150 on top of the base price Colt.
