My girlfriend Debbie and I just got back from 8 days of vacation; from Michigan to St Simon's Island, GA and to a friend's cabin in Ohio. The friend was Fred Rowe of Amesville, OH. Amesville is the closet town; he lives on top of Bethel Ridge, miles off the beaten track. While we were at Fred's he actually let me into his shop, welded some steel stock on a piece of rebar and let me forge what would not have passed as a knife blade anywhere! I do know that doing the heating and beating I want to continue on my trek to become a knife maker.

That said, I did manage to pick up another knife of Fred's for sale; this beautiful hairy oak handled damascus fighter. This knife is incredibly fast in the hand. It has a 9-1/4" damascus with a false grind on top and a 5-1/2" hairy oak and antler handle. The guard and buttcap are Nickle Silver and Fred did a very nice leather sheath - to be worn on the right side for a right handed draw. This knife is available for $650.00 US plus actual insured shipping costs. Please enjoy looking.
