My firefox use with JD has gone all wonky, and I figure taking a screen shot will be useful in diagnosing. Subforum thread lists look wrong, I can only get smilies to post by using code, and I seem to have lost some editing funtions. This first occured yesteday, potentially influeced by a windows update installation. I have since updated firefox, run four different virus/malware/spyware scans, rebooted, and deleted the windows update. Nothing has helped. The only thing I have not done is completely delete my current firefox, then reload; this due to not wanting to lose all the info in my current one. Any ideas besides that?

Try switching skins in your user control panel and then switching back the same way.

A different skin gives me the right appearance, but switching back to the pedestrian VB3 recreates the problem. I will have to experiment with other functions in VB4. At least I can resume firefox (for now) and get the fuck out of internet explorer. Thank you sir! rats...

Editing functions still fucked! If you notice in the above, my signature is in the same line as the last sentence. This is not how I placed it in the post, and I cannot go back and change it. It should look like this:

Rats- Tiny has reported weird stuff, but I used Opera, IE and Firefox. I had switched your skin via the admin control panel.

Looks like it was a Java problem...; at least that was what it took to finally fix it. Thanks to Mr. LaBella who gave some behind-the-scenes suggestions, none of which involved the Watusi, inside-out underoos, nor a chicken.
