I don't often hand rub the tantos because its difficult to blent the finish with multi angles,but I promised Ron I would pimp it so......... Now I quickly rub out the grind lines before grinding the rest. It's keeps the grinds a lot sharper., I think :ropeman:

Watching it all come together Shawn sure gives a guy more of an appreciation of the skill and work it takes to put out a truly amazing piece. Hard to believe that all started as sheets of metal all hand cut and worked with basic tools in comparison of today's world of water jets and CNC machines.

Thats the problem, Im finding it so hard to get started. I know I would love making knives but its alot of money to get the equipment I want, but then I think about getting some cheaper stuff and it just leads me to wanting the best of the best.

The only tool I really have now, is a drill press. I would love to get a Great grinder (I was looking at Bee Grinders), I would love a decent heat treat oven (which would probably be the last thing I buy),a good bandsaw as well. I would also love a mediocre mill/drill too.

The thing that sucks is I lost my old job to surgery so Im not pulling in a lot of dough... I think I would have already had some stuff if it werent for that.

Blade is ground,everything is at a 320 grit finish,I will do the handle work and all that before final blade finishing as I will probably scratch it up more.

Oh man, these bushings are great! With the pb bushings I had a hard time getting bushings that are actually on spec. The inner diameter always seems to be off center, only by a thou or two, but that's enough to change the opened closed gaps. Very frustrating.these hardened stainless ones are the bomb, and are on spec.
