Going to get the charcoal going in about 30 minutes. Then it's time for tri-tip, corn on the cob, and asparagus on the grill.

Knocking back a nice cold Stella now and have a few more in the fridge to keep me company while manning the grill and eating dinner.

It's a fantastic day, we're hanging out on the patio, and my 5 year old is running around in the sprinklers singing the birthday song for America.:ssmile:

Well we just got done with dinner! The steaks went 600 degrees for 5 minutes each side, hot but red inside! Corn and pasta was great, burger cake was awesome!

About the 5th time in 100 years my wife was in awe of the meat I put down in front of her!

Dogs were in heaven!

Went out for Chinese, or, duh, "Asian Fusion" cuisine. I had General Tso's chicken with broccoli and spring roll, Deadeye had a couple kinds of fancy sushi, our guests had Peking duck fajitas and a bento box dinner... chicken satay (on sticks with a hot spicy peanut sauce, kind of cross between Indonesian and Thai.)

Then we came home and set off our own fireworks in the backyard. There was no breeze and it was incredibly smoky by the time we were done. And, the cows raised hell, mooing and protesting loudly.

Sorry, bossy!

Ah, hot chocolate and left over sushi for breakfast! yummy! I'm really really smiling about Roslin's avatar. Everytime I see it I giggle. Umberto's lava lamp is very funny, too. But my biggest smile this morning:

We went to a back-yard party. Before "dinner" there was: shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs, meatballs, wings, veggie platter, fruit platter, cheese platter, hot dogs & burgers. Then came "dinner", from the grill came: ribs, steaks, chicken, marinated pork, and sausage. From the oven came: stuffed shells, baked ziti, pasta & broc, sausage& peppers, chicken parm, eggplant parm, and something with seafood & veggies. And, of course there was a 6' hero (with all the salads). It's not officially a party without the 6' hero! :spin: For desert there were three different cakes, cookies, ice cream, ices, and some home-made GLOP in a big bowl that I was afraid to try! (no idea what it was, but it looked nasty!)
