I finally bought my first AR this spring.it was a budget gun, put together by a local guy. Nothing wrong with it and nothing fancy. Problem is, I started getting the 1911 bug big time. So, I'm supposed to meet up with a guy after work on Tuesday and swap the AR for a Springfield Armory Loaded, only 50 rounds through it he says, not a scratch on it. I may get another AR someday, I just want the 1911 more at the moment.

I find that where I live -- Chicago-Land area --- I get WAY MORE use out of my handguns then my centerfire rifles.

And "home-built" AR's are a dime a dozen --- and everyone NEEDS at least ONE 1911 :bwah:

Have fun -- stay safe , Bird

If it came down to it I'd have a 1911 over an AR. I just like them that much.

Any thoughts on the Loaded model from SA?

Never owned one but I've shot two , maybe three of them ---- they ALL works well and were accurate.

I have had three. They are a decent 1911. Always went bang and were accurate . Fit and finish for me was lacking but on par with it's cost. You could do worse.

Overall, I'd say a good tradeoff for a home build AR. As said they are abundant and yes, everyone NEEDS at least one 1911. That's just American.

Especially in the Centennial year.

Congress should pass a law.

Well, deal completed and the gun looks great. Trigger feels pretty damn good too. Now I just need to find time to go try it out.

It's actually my 4th, this one is staying around. My first was back in college, a Charles Daly. After that was a SA GI, the a Colt M1991A1. This is much nicer than the others. The trijicon sights seem a little dim, but I've never used them before so they may be normal. The guy I got it from only had it a short time. He only ran a box through it and ended up getting a S&W for 3 gun.
