go to www.alienware.com, they have some awsome computers. they have an ultimate gaming computer thats so fast that it needs to be liquid cooled otherwise it would fry its circuits. i custimized one to 9,000 dollers, if only i could spend that much on a computer

psh... alienware is a flag that says, "steal me." You can build for cheaper, but they are good for mad gaming...although who wants to game on a laptop? :???:

With a lil bit of knowledge or research on the internet, you can make the same PC that costs $9,000 for a fraction of the cost.

Another site of overpriced PCs but are good. http://www.falcon-nw.com/

Here is another site that you can configure PCs to your liking but are cheaper in price than the previous 2 sites which weere mentioned. http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/

although who wants to game on a laptop? :???:

Yeah it seems more of a burden than anything. The laptop is more of a replacement desktop. Not somehting you can stay away from an AC adapter and an outlet for long with.

True... but a 17" PB can make good gaming machine, all 17" laptops are fucking great lan machines... that is if you don't have a POS 17" laptop clunker.

True but the price you spend on a laptop for gaming and a desktop with the same sepcs is about a grand or more. It's not worth getting a top of the line laptop just for gaming especially when upgrading them is limited. Just lug your PC to the LAN with your monitor. Atleast that is how I look at it.

hehe 42long, you are confusing me.

Trixie
12-11-2004, 05:32 PM
agreed, suck it up and be a gaming goon. lugging your whole machine is not too terrible, it builds character. Just get a flast screen monitor and it will cut down on weight dramatically, get a back pack for the mouse, keyboards, speakers, etc, and you can make it in two trips, I got unloading and loading down to a science.

You mean the monitor is refreshing at 80FPS. I doubt it draws images for all games at 80 FPS. There will be games that it goes well beyond that like in Quake 3. Then there will be times it is facing Doom 3 on Ultra mode and making only about 50. Mean while the monitor is always refreshing at 80.

What's the point in having it draw games faster than "the eye can see"? Watching an image on a TV/monitor and looking at it in real life are different. Games don't have image blur and such. The eye can interpret many frames of a monitor as one frame for the eye. There's a difference and it can be noticed.

BTW It's a BIG misconception that the eye can only see 30FPS.
